No Such Thing as an Overnight Success

Entrepreneurship has become sensationalized by the media.

People, mostly young people, see entrepreneurship as a quick way to make a buck. A way out.

But entrepreneurship, and her sister innovation are slow, long, drawn out processes that require time.

The Overnight Success

We become aware of new things after they’ve eclipsed a tipping point in the mainstream. Suddenly the new shiny thing is everywhere we turn.

An overnight success they call it.

To ride the wave, media sensationalizes the rise of this new offer. Further enhancing and perpetuating the myth.

The backstory gets buried. Often ignoring the 9 years of blood sweat and tears it took for the company or person to get to this moment.

Reality

  • Commitment
  • Persistence
