Ever notice how many websites have outdated copyrights at the bottom of the page?
That diminishes my trust in the website.
Keeping the copyright up to date is a small indicator of care and involvement.

I am not above forgetting to update my copyright - it is easy to overlook and I have overlooked it in the past.
There are tools to avoiding this though. With a little bit of javascript, you can the copyright date, up to date.
